Since you are here, you are probably looking to start a new photo project, consider going with a One Subject project. For this kind of project you are going to want to set, even write down, a couple of specific things to get the best results.
First off you are going to need to pick a subject you can commit to photographing. Your subject should be a physical and specific object or a location. This can be as specific as your kitchen or as broad as a city. The more specific, the more rewarding and challenging this project can be. Be sure to put one or two other limits in place such as using only a specific lens or only taking photos from ground level.
Next you will need to set aside a regular time that you will take these photos. This could be daily, every Tuesday before work, one afternoon a month, or whatever you want to set and can commit to.
Finally, you want to set a timeframe to finish your project with a set number or range of final edited images, maybe it’s 20 photos in 30 days or 10 photos taken with a macro lens of your bedroom on a rainy Thursday afternoon.
Also consider taking advantage of unexpected or unplanned free time and pick a subject or location and set a mini One Subject project challenge for yourself.
Whatever you end up doing for your next One Subject project, make it a fun and very specific challenge. Don’t forget to edit and share your photos!
